When does Solstice start in Destiny 2?

Hope we get another skimmer this time...

Destiny 2‘s Solstice 2024 marks the return of the European Aerial Zone (EAZ), the addition of new and returning armor sets, and another chance to get high-stat armor pieces. If you want function and fashion, Solstice might be a necessary stop.

Solstice will run for three weeks, leading into the final act of Echoes. Until then, players can speak with Eva Levante and take on all the Destiny 2 event has to offer once it begins—and it’s just around the corner.

Solstice 2024 will likely kick off at reset on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Guardians can dive into the event starting at 12pm CT, though they may face the Destiny 2 is temporarily at capacity” message that heralds a queue to get into the game.

What’s in Solstice 2024 in Destiny 2?

Bungie hasn’t outlined what to expect from this year’s Solstice, though more information should become available as the release draws nearer. The communications team canceled a blog post scheduled for last week following the astonishing layoffs at Bungie, which fired 17 percent of its workforce on July 31.

While there’s not much to know about Solstice, global community lead Dylan “dmg_04” Gafner confirmed an update will launch alongside the event, with patch notes available on Bungie’s website. Solstice is also seemingly coming on Aug. 6, based on the post. This is likely the “early August” patch the studio teased in the July 11 This Week in Destiny blog post, bringing buffs to a few different weapons. The Still Hunt nerf already took place in an earlier update.

Bungie also revealed concept art for the Solstice armor during the Echoes Act Two livestream last month. The sets are designed with an “adventurer” theme in mind, and though the concept art offers a glimpse of them, you have to wait until the actual model launches.

Destiny 2‘s Solstice changed its core formula in the past couple of years, introducing a shorter, less dynamic “Bonfire Bash” mode in its unique arena, the EAZ. It’s unclear if Solstice’s main activity will see major changes compared to recent iterations.

The grind for high-stat armor (and the associated glows) may see some changes from past years, but we won’t know the details until Bungie discloses them officially—or until they drop tomorrow.
