Lash is one of the most versatile heroes in Deadlock, and you can max out his life steal with the right build to deal decent damage while tanking your enemies’ firepower, always coming out on top of your fights.
Here’s everything you need to know about the best build for Lash in Deadlock, including card selection, abilities, and more to land those heavy punches.
Lash’s abilities in Deadlock
Lash has primarily three main abilities and an ultimate ability:
- Ground Strike: Lash slams the ground in front of you in a cone shape, dealing damage to enemies in range. If Lash is airborne, he can use the Ground Strike ability to land quickly in an area and deal enhanced damage to enemies caught in the action.Â
- Grapple: He hurls himself up in the sky toward a target and gets one stamina charge in addition to restoring his dashes and normal air jumps.
- Flog: He whips the enemies in front of him to steal a portion of their health.
- Death Slam (ultimate): He attaches his whip to enemies in his line of sight. After being connected, Lash can lift and slam them on the ground to deal damage. If there are more enemies in the area of impact, they will be damaged and slowed.
Lash is full of mobility and sustain, which makes him a strong option against DPS characters and even tanks. Unlike some Deadlock heroes, he has a high skill ceiling where you can use his grapple ability to jump over enemies and gain height, then using Ground Strike to deal significant damage. While he isn’t as tanky as other characters, you can create a life-steal build to absorb damage and bash your enemies.
The best build for Lash in Deadlock
Early game
Start the game with Ground Strike to easily clear enemy waves and build pressure on your opponent using your burst fire. If you find yourself against a skirmisher, then you can also invest your points in Flog next to sustain through the damage and heal continuously with each wave to stay in the lane and continue building momentum.Â
I usually start the build with Basic Ammo to get early firepower and focus on farming the creeps to get through the early game quickly before taking down the enemy tower. You can also invest in Close Quarters, which gives you more damage when you’re closer to an enemy. If you feel you also need to burst down your opponent in the early game, you can grab Basic Magazine and improve your weapon’s damage and ammo count.
Apart from the weapon tree cards, you need to also invest in Vitality to build the foundation for your life steal build by getting Enduring Spirit and Melee Spirit, boosting your health and increasing your melee life steal to take close fights. Extra Stamina and Mythic Reach are both important components to take your mobility to the next level.
Mid Game
In the mid game, focus on the Vitality tree upgrades to become an unkillable tank with a huge mobility advantage. For that, you need to invest your Souls in Bullet or Spirit Lifesteal along with Lifestrike, which improves your melee life steal for those close-ranged fights. Another important card in the Vitality tree is Superior Stamina, which gives you more air dashes, jumps, and improves your recovery time.
Now, for the Spirit Tree, you have to get Improved Reach and Superior Cooldown to get in range with your enemies easily and have a super low cooldown on your main abilities. If you want to pack some more firepower, Active Reload and Slowing Bullets are also good additions to your arsenal.
Late Game
At this point, you should have a healing juggernaut build ready with enough mobility to take down players with ease. However, if you spot a pesky opponent trying to reduce your healing ability, you can counter them by buying Leech, which enhances your overall life steal and protects you from enemies who are trying to decrease your healing.Â
Soul Rebirth is an occasional item for getting back into action after your death, which is good for late-game. Make sure to enhance your build further by also investing in Crippling Headshot and Siphon Bullets to drain your enemies harder than ever before, melting them in the process. You can finish off the build by taking Boundless Spirit and Diviner’s Kevlar to raise your defense stats and use your life steal to soak damage for your team as your DPS heroes finish the job in style for you.
You can also take Colossus and Vampiric Burst to add the finishing touches to your build and slam down on enemies with an almost never-ending health bar.
