The long-awaited collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Five Night at Freddy’s (FNAF) has been announced, and fans are eager to get as many details as possible about this crossover—like when it’s happening, or what it will include.
There are few details right now, and a lot of things are up in the air. The Dead by Daylight team at Behaviour Interactive has dealt with various crossovers, featuring horror icons from cinema and video games and even working with Nicholas Cage’s incredible acting talent. When it comes to the crossover for FNAF, fans want to know when they can play it.
When does the FNAF x DBD collaboration release?
We can confirm the Dead by Daylight and FNAF crossover will happen sometime in the summer of 2025. We don’t know the exact date this will officially come out, but we imagine it might be closer to the Dead by Daylight ninth anniversary stream, similar to when they shared further details on the Dungeons & Dragons crossover, bringing Vecna into the game.
It will be a full year from when the team announced the crossover was happening for the FNAF 10th-anniversary. The Dead by Daylight team typically keeps these details quiet until closer to when players can get their hands on new content in the public test servers, usually a month before they arrive. For example, Castlevania was an announced crossover in Behaviour Interactive’s eighth-anniversary stream for Dead by Daylight on May 14. However, we wouldn’t learn more concrete details until Aug. 6, three months later.
What could the FNAF x Dead by Daylight collab include?
When the FNAF collab is in Dead by Daylight, we can expect more than a simple series of costumes worn by the existing Killers and Survivors. There will likely be Killers from the FNAF series added to the game, with distinct perks and abilities that make them fearsome adversaries for any Survivors.
Survivors have also been featured in these Dead by Daylight crossovers, but we don’t know if that will happen with FNAF. The animatronic killers in FNAF are the real stars of the games, and it makes sense for the Behaviour Interactive team to highlight them in this heavily demanded crossover.
We can only speculate based on the minimal details. We’ll learn more information as we approach summer 2025. Again, the Behaviour Interactive team usually only shares immediate details of Killers and gameplay closer to official release.
