MLG Pro League Season 3 Relegation Tournament: Event Preview

The MLG Pro League Season 3 Relegation Tournament for Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare will be held at the MLG.tv Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on June 19-21. Sixteen teams will be battling it out for a total of $10,000 in cash prizes and more importantly a spot within Season 3 of the MLG Pro League.

Location and Lodging

Venue – The MLG Arena is located at 2188 Citygate Drive, Columbus, OH 43219, near the Port Columbus International Airport.

Parking – There will be free and available parking outside and/or nearby the MLG Arena.

Hotels – Major League Gaming provided four nearby hotels within reasonable distance within Columbus. If you are a competitor or spectator booking late, check out the provided hotels:

Basic Information

The MLG Pro League Season 3 Relegation Tournament is an invite-only event, to the bottom four teams from Season 2, top eight Pro Point teams submitted to MLG, and the top four teams that competed at the S3 Relegation Tournament Online Qualifier.

Three-day spectator passes are available for $35 on MLG’s website, allowing a visitor to have general admission seating at the MLG Arena.

Bracket Information

The format of the event will be in the traditional Double Elimination Bracket setting. All matches will be played in a best-of-five series. All teams will start in the Winner’s Bracket. After losing a match (if any), that team will fall into the Loser’s Bracket. A loss in the LB results in elimination from the remainder of the tournament. The finalist from the Winner’s and Loser’s Brackets will face off in the Grand Finals on Championship Sunday.

Seeding is determined off of the Season 2 standings for the bottom four teams within that season, and by the MLG North American Pro Point Leaderboard for the remaining 14 teams, as of 9:00 AM EDT on Friday, May 29.

The prize pool of a total of $10,000 will be distributed among the top-four teams who qualify for Season 3 of the MLG Pro League.
