Although the tournament just got underway, there’s been no shortage of upsets and close matches so far in Seattle.
Echo Fox stunned the competition to go undefeated on Friday. Despite adding Donovan “Temp” Laroda just before the event, Echo Fox took down FaZe Clan and Rise Nation to stake their claim for the top spot in Pool A.
In Pool B, the revamped Team Envy lineup also went undefeated on Friday, including a shocking upset over OpTic Gaming. Team Kaliber followed suit in Pool D with a strong 3-0 start to CWL Seattle featuring wins over Evil Geniuses, Splyce, and Red Reserve.
Pool C is the only group that doesn’t have an undefeated squad—and the biggest surprise is that Luminosity are 1-2. The CWL Birmingham champions lost to coL and Mindfreak on Friday, while compLexity and eUnited are both 2-1 in pool play.
