Midnight Esports, who entered their match Tuesday against Team Reciprocity with a 4-0 record, lost a five-game series to the European squad for their first loss of the season. Reciprocity’s ability to clutch in Search and Destroy turned out to be crucial in the victory.

Despite Midnight taking the first Hardpoint of the series, Reciprocity were able to win the first Search and Destroy map in the 11th round. They kept up their momentum with a 3-2 Control victory, but lost another Hardpoint to allow the series to go to a fifth and final map.

Fortunately, the second Search and Destroy ended the same way that the first one did: With an 11th round Reciprocity win.

The win not only ruined Midnight’s undefeated record, but it also gives Reciprocity a much-needed victory in the first half of the regular season. Another loss would’ve marked their fourth of the young season, which could’ve been a major blow with a few more divisional and several cross-division matches to go.

With a win over UYU on Tuesday, Gen.G kept their undefeated season hopes alive. OpTic Gaming also increased their winning streak to four with a win over Red Reserve. And Luminosity finally picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory against Evil Geniuses, who now sit at 0-5.

Here are the standings in Division A of the CWL Pro League (each team’s series record is followed by their map count in parentheses).

Standings

1) Gen.G: 5-0 (15-6)
2) Midnight Esports: 4-1 (14-5)
3) OpTic Gaming: 4-1 (12-7)
4) Red Reserve: 2-3 (10-10)
5) UYU: 2-3 (9-11)
6) Team Reciprocity: 2-3 (8-13)
7) Luminosity: 1-4 (9-14)
8) Evil Geniuses: 0-5 (4-15)

Reciprocity vs. UYU will kick off Wednesday’s matches at 2pm CT.
