The first major update for Pokkén Tournament DX came to the Nintendo Switch earlier today, adding several new features and tweaks.
The update was originally teased on Oct. 13 when Nintendo promised big changes and tweaks to its Pokémon-inspired fighting game. Now, one month after the initial teaser, Nintendo is finally set to deliver on its promises.

The first big feature added in today’s update includes online team battles, which will allow players to create teams of three Pokémon to battle against others online.
The idea behind this mode is simple—players compete in a last-man-standing battle.
Pokémon that win their fights go up against the next Pokémon from the opposing team with the same amount of health. The first team to eliminate all three of their opponent’s Pokémon wins.
The new update also adds a heavily-requested recording feature, which allows players to capture footage in practice modes. This will be a welcome addition for the competitive community, who have been craving a way to record potential combos and fighting styles so they can review them and potentially improve as players.
Nintendo has also fixed a bunch of issues and bugs that were present in the game since launch, such as certain combos failing to register on an opposing character.
Pokkén Tournament DX is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
