Is Goku Black coming to Fortnite?

Fortnite has a reputation for bringing in the biggest characters from every single game or show imaginable. And now, Epic Games might be going the extra mile with Goku Black from Dragon Ball Super.

Fortnite has celebrated anime culture for years now and seems to be willing to include more characters from these types of shows all the time. Dragon Ball has made an appearance with several Z fighters making the cut. Goku is already sitting pretty in the cast of Fortnite playable characters, and Goku Black might be about to join the scene.

Is Goku Black coming to Fortnite?

Fear not, Goku Black could be making his debut in Fortnite sooner than you might think. Data miners have made our life a lot more enjoyable with the revelation that Goku Black might be making his first appearance in the Fortnite universe soon.

According to an updated Item Shop section in the game’s files shortly before release, Goku Black is expected to release May 12 at 7pm CT. This was confirmed to be true when the time came, with Goku Black currently in the Item Shop.

Another leak points to a variation of the standard Goku Charging Up ability that will likely turn the skin into its second pink form that many people seem to be sharing.

There have been a lot of leaks, detailed below, but the biggest tease seems to be the leak of a PlayStation 4 shop advertisement, tweeted by iFireMonkey.

GMatrixGames revealed a file called “DualParadox” that made its way into a May 7 update. The pattern didn’t reveal much, but GMatrixGames was able to conclude it was Goku Black, alongside other credible leaker acknowledgments. This is not a confirmation of the skin, but just what some leakers are guessing based on previous experience.

With Japan’s Goku Day on May 9, many believed there was a solid chance we could see the Goku variant making its first appearance in the Fortnite universe on that day. But as of May 10, the skin has yet to show up in the Item Shop. This doesn’t mean the skin isn’t going to release soon, but it’s not coming on the holiday that many had associated with the character’s release.

While there isn’t much information available on a potential Goku Black skin, we can assume that it may be released sometime soon. Epic doesn’t usually add the texture for the skin, basically the whole point, until it’s near release. With two Dragon Ball Super collaborations in the last nine months, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to assume another skin might be slipped in when we least expect it.

But soon, if you’re playing as Goku and see an enemy Goku Black when you’re wandering around Tilted Towers, you’ll get the opportunity to re-enact some memorable Dragon Ball Super scenes.
