“NuckleDu has chosen not to attend Capcom Cup 2017,” Capcom Fighters wrote on Twitter. “According to CPT rules, the auto-qualification he earned for winning Capcom Cup 2016 is giving [sic] to the runner-up. Ricki Ortiz has accepted the vacated spot in Capcom Cup 2017.”

Ortiz tweeted that she hopes to make everyone proud at the event, despite her few months away, which she spent “bettering [herself] and [her] personal life.”

Capcom Cup 2017 is scheduled for Dec. 8 to 10 in Anaheim, California.
