Schalke nearly have a perfect game in their win over Splyce

The fight for playoffs is heating up.

Schalke 04 took a commanding victory over Splyce earlier today in the EU LCS with a near-perfect victory.

Splyce entered today’s game against Schalke 04 following victories against the NA LCS and EU LCS Spring Split champions, Team Liquid and Fnatic.

It looked like Splyce earned a much-needed confidence boost from these win after a shaky start to compete for those all-important playoff spots at the end of the Summer Split.

Schalke, on the other hand, came into today’s game after defeating Giants in yesterday’s match, ending a two-game losing streak.

Both teams were in sixth place heading into the match, knowing that a win would see them tie for fourth with ROCCAT and Fnatic for now, depending on how the other matches went throughout the day.

Schalke had complete objective control for most of the map, only giving up a single dragon throughout the entire game. Schlake were so clean that, if it weren’t for the handful of kills they gave up in the early game, they could have easily had a perfect game.

Splyce didn’t get a single tower throughout the match and failed to captivate on the momentum from their last two victories to give them a perfect 2-0 week. The team had some decent plays at the start of the match, predicting where Schalke might play around to get some kills, but it was all for naught.

After 25 minutes, Schalke secured the Baron and aced Splyce to pick up the resounding win and finish the week 2-0 for the first time since week eight of the EU LCS Spring Split.

With momentum on their side heading into the second half of the season, Schalke face off against winless H2K-Gaming in the first match on Friday. Splyce, however, have a chance to get back in the running when they face off against Giants on the same day.
