Shy has been playing professionally in Korea since 2012, when he joined Azubu Frost. That year, he helped his team place as runners-up at Worlds, before joining CJ Entus (Formerly CJ Entus Frost), where he remained until joining ROX in 2016.

Over his five years playing professionally in Korea, Shy has become one of the region’s most well-known top laners.

He has never won a World championship, but he is regarded as one of the best top laners in the region. In ROX’s statement to its fans, it explained that Shy had been considering retirement for a long time, and that although the fans may be shocked at the announcement, Shy felt ready to begin a new journey.

There will be a small retirement ceremony to honor Shy’s long esports career and his time on ROX, as per his request, but the location and details of the ceremony were not provided.
