PUBG is finally leaving Early Access with its full release today

The game will leave Early Access at 11pm PST.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will leave Early Access today.

The game’s full release is scheduled for Dec. 20 at 11pm PT. Maintenance on PUBG’s live servers will begin at 4pm PT, Bluehole, Inc. announced on Twitter. The maintenance period is scheduled to last five hours. Patch notes for the PUBG 1.0 release will be shared “soon,” according to the developer.

PUBG has been part of Steam’s Early Access program since March, and officially surpassed 10 million sales in September. Those numbers are impressive for a game that hadn’t even been released yet—a full release with such massive numbers behind it is huge.

When PUBG’s 1.0 update goes live on PC, Bluehole, Inc. will shut down the game’s test servers.

But while PUBG on PC gets ready for a full release, PUBG on Xbox One remains in Microsoft’s Game Preview program. The Xbox One version of PUBG launched Dec. 12. A patch targeting the game’s visual and performance issues went live on Dec. 19—the first patch for the console version of the game.

2017 was a great year for Bluehole, Inc. and PUBG—only time will tell what the future is for the game after this official release. “Plans” for the future will apparently also be shared “soon”.
