PUBG has more than 30 million players worldwide

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has only just left Steam’s Early Access program, but the game has now surpassed 30 million players worldwide across PC and Xbox One, according to an announcement from PUBG Corp. today. The game entered into Early Access nine months ago, consistently making updates as the months passed. PUBG had its official launch with version 1.0 on PC on Dec. 20, introducing a new map, Miramar, as well as new vaulting and climbing mechanics. But the most impressive part of its launch? PUBG has amassed more than 30 million players worldwide across both PC and Xbox One, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene confirmed to Dot Esports. CEO CH Kim said in a press release. “With over 30 million players globally across PC platforms and the Xbox Game Preview program, we owe the success we’ve experienced this year to the community, whose passion has inspired all of us here at PUBG Corp. to make the very best game we can.” PUBG reached 20 million players on PC in November. The game made its full launch on Dec. 20 on PC, while the Xbox One version of PUBG debuted on Xbox Game Preview on Dec. 12. The first PUBG patch on Xbox One came on Dec. 19, targeting visual and performance issues.
