KT Rolster has signed former KINGZONE DragonX mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong, and former SuperMassive support No “SnowFlower” Hoi-jong, the organization announced earlier today.
Arguably the best mid laner in Korea alongside Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Bdd will be joining KT after a 2018 season filled with highs and lows. Bdd started 2018 strong with KINGZONE, winning the LCK Spring Split and a top- two finish at the Mid Season Invitational. But in the Summer Split, KINGZONE’s dominance over Korea ended, with the team failing to make the World Championship. Despite a lackluster summer, Bdd’s individual play was still among the best in the league.
Snowflower returns to Korea after a year in Turkey on SuperMassive. During his time on SuperMassive, Snowflower won the TCL Winter and Summer splits, in addition to Rift Rivals. Although Snowflower and SuperMassive qualified for both the Mid Season Invitational and World Championship, they were unable to advance past the play-in stages of both tournaments.
In addition to the signing of Bdd and Snowflower, KT also announced the re-signing of top laner Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho, and jungler Go “Score” Dong-bin. KT have yet to sign an AD carry, the only vacant position remaining on the team.
KT are currently coming off their most successful season since the LCK’s formation in 2015. The team won the LCK 2018 Summer Split, the organization’s first domestic title since 2014. One of the favorites to lift the Summoner’s Cup, KT were knocked out of the World Championship in the quarterfinals by eventual tournament champions, Invictus Gaming.
