He’s back, baby.

Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp, infamously the most toxic player in League of Legends history, has been unbanned, according to his Twitter announcement today. He will kick off his stream again next Monday at 3pm CT.

Just in case you’re brand new to the game or perhaps have been living under a rock for the past couple of years, Tyler1 was banned indefinitely in 2016 for the very thing that sparked his fame and grew his fanbase—his unyielding toxicity. Since then, after allegedly seeing the error of his ways, he’s been trying to change the public’s perception of him from the “most toxic player NA” to the “most reformed player NA,” as seen in his Twitter banner image.

Apparently, it worked.

Although Tyler1 will be rejoining League of Legends as a free man, the road to get there wasn’t an easy one. In October 2017, a Riot employee by the name of “Riot Sanjuro” said in a Discord server that it would “be gucci” if Tyler1 died “from a coke overdose or testicular cancer from all the steroids.”

The Riot staffer in question apologized profusely soon after, claiming that he had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the statement. The apology followed a different Riot staffer hopping on Reddit to say that Riot as a whole did not agree with the statement and that the situation would be handled internally.

Despite the enemies Tyler1 made at Riot, his ban has still been lifted, and hopefully, his reformation sticks around for the long haul.

May the Rito gods have mercy on our souls.
