The wrongly-banned in Fortnite are receiving justice in the form of in-game currency. Developer Epic Games has begun unbanning accounts that shouldnāt have been banned in the first place. And if getting your account back isnāt a prize in and of itself, unbanned players are getting 2,000 V-Bucks in damages.
A Reddit user and wrongly-banned Fortnite player posted the update to the Fortnite: Battle Royale subreddit last night. āWe incorrectly banned your account,ā a note from Epic reads. āWeāre sorry and will be granting V-Bucks to your account to compensate for the error.ā

The amount of V-Bucks awarded, 2,000, is roughly equivalent to $20. Epic Games confirmed to Dot Esports that this practice was ongoing, but said that it couldnāt share further detailsālike how it’s determining who to unban. Lots of players inĀ Fortnite have been complaining about being wrongly-banned, whether it be for suspicious behavior or being accused of cheating.
Naturally, thereās a lot of jokes on the Reddit post about the Fortnite player accused of cheating by Tyler āNinjaā Blevins. This week, the popular streamer got eliminated by a player who emoted after the kill. Ninja reported him for what he suspected was stream sniping. Ninjaās reaction has become a meme. (Of course the player who eliminated Ninja didnāt actually get banned.)
Thereās no real word on how the unbans are rolling outāif theyāre coming in waves or just happening randomly. But if your Fortnite account was banned for a reason you consider unjust, check your account. You could have 2,000 V-Bucks waiting for you. And thatās, like, a whole new skin!
