What characters can you play in Marvel’s Midnight Suns?

The whole gang's here.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns takes a different look at the comic book universe, setting itself in the multiverse’s more supernatural, darker side. Although many Marvel characters exist, only 17 are playable heroes in Marvel‘s Midnight Suns.

All playable characters in Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Marvel’s Midnight Suns has 17 playable characters, including Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ghost Ride, The Hulk, Iron Man, Magik, Nico Minoru, Spider-Man, Captain America, Blade, Scarlet Witch, Wolverine, The Hunter, Storm, Deadpool, Venom, and Morbius.

Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)

Captain Marvel is one character you want on the front lines, as she’s a tank and a damage dealer. This means she’s much harder to take out because of her ability, Block, and she can deal a decent amount of damage via her offensive abilities, like Go Binary, which increases her damage.

Doctor Strange (Stephen Strange)

Doctor Strange is one of Midnight Sun’s support superheroes who can return a spent attack card to the player’s hand. He can also provide attack buffs, hide from enemies, and even reduce incoming damage. While supports aren’t always popular because of their lack of damage, Doctor Strange is one support you want on your team.

Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)

If you need a high-damage dealer on your team, Ghost Rider is the hero for you. However, as his abilities are high damage, they also come with a high cost to both Ghost Rider and his allies. But if you can consume the souls of the enemies he knocks down, you can slightly mitigate this cost.

The Hulk (Bruce Banner)

Given his size and ferocity, it’s easy to see how The Hulk is not only the damage of the team but also a tank. This means he can take a lot of damage for his team to earn Rage stacks and use them to self-heal. He’s self-sufficient and a great choice if you need a tank.

Iron Man (Tony Stark)

Despite being known for his high damage levels in the Marvel franchise, Iron Man is a utility hero in Midnight Suns. This means he can not only do damage but also use his redraws to gain additional bonus effects for his abilities. While this might not suit everyone’s playstyle, it can create an exciting and surprise-fueled fight.

Magik (Illyana Rasputin)

Magik is a unique character in Midnight Suns as she is a Control character. This means what she lacks in offensive and defensive abilities; she makes up for in helping you gain control of the game by using her portals to shift your team and your enemies into different positions, which can restrict their movements. It does take time to perfect, but if you’re great at strategic thinking and positioning, Magik is an excellent addition to your team.

Sister Grimm (Nico Minoru)

Her appearance may be on the gothic side, but Sister Grimm is a support character specializing in healing, which can make or break a fight. She does have damage potential. However, the downside of her damage abilities is that she can’t target the enemy—they’re selected randomly. It can be unreliable but also amazing if luck is on your side.

Spider-Man (Peter Parker)

Peter Parker’s Spider-Man is one of the fighters on the Midnight Suns team, focusing on agility. His webcanto blind characters or pull them closer. Spider-Man is also great at using his webs to make the world around him a weapon, slinging any object that’s not nailed down.

Captain America (Steve Rogers)

The all-American super soldier wanted to serve his country so badly he put his life on the line for it. As a member of the Midnight Suns team, he’s a tank that absorbs damage and focuses it back at the enemy. Captain America can also build up shielding to keep his health bar from decreasing too much while under enemy fire.

Blade (Eric Brooks)

Equipped with two swords and a wealth of other gadgets, Blade is the best vampire hunter in the business, probably because he’s half one. Blade deals endless damage, but that’s not the best thing about him. He can also steal life from his enemies, which can be very beneficial if you don’t have a support or healer on your team.

Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff)

This character has become extremely popular due to her recent appearances as the antagonist in different Marvel projects. Wanda can deal with her near-limitless power in Midnight Suns, which has dark implications. Her special moves will focus on area-of-effect attacks from a decent range, with some of her attacks becoming more powerful each time she uses them.

Wolverine (Logan)

Wolverine is one of the most iconic members of the X-Men, with several film and video game projects in recent years. Wolverine is part-Tank, part-Distributed Damage in Midnight Suns. He can take a few hits and regenerate the health, allowing him to absorb damage.

The Hunter

The Hunter was created for Midnight Suns and is the player’s character. Players can customize everything about this character, including improving their skills in various combat roles. The Hunter can be customized to suit different playstyles like damage, control, support, mitigation, or a combination of all four.

DLC Storm (Ororo Munroe)

Storm is one of the most powerful members of the X-Men, and in Midnight Suns, she specializes in Control and Damage. As many of her cards have a ‘next turn’ feature, the cards she uses on her next turn will do more damage, meaning she becomes much more powerful.

DLC Deadpool (Wade Wilson)

Deadpool is a beloved anti-hero in Midnight Suns and a high-damage character. While he’s armed with two pistols and grenades and can dual-wield katanas, that’s the least impressive thing about him. Deadpool can heal a percentage of his health every turn, which can be beneficial if you’re going for a high DPS team without a healer or if you need a self-sufficient character while your healer focuses on your other teammates.

DLC Venom (Eddie Brock)

Like Deadpool, Venom is a high-damage character in Midnight Suns with an insatiable hunger. This grants you stacks, which means you’ll deal more damage. What’s great about Venom is that he has both ranged and AoE attacks. So, he can deal damage at a great distance and to more than one enemy, which can be very helpful if he can take out multiple enemies at once.

DLC Morbius (Dr. Michael Morbius)

Like his appearance, Morbius is a fierce addition to Midnight Suns and has a damage-focused playstyle. He uses everything from his talon-like fingers to his teeth to tear into his enemies, but he can also CC his enemies into attacking one another or weaken them.
