Nintendo will hold esports tourneys for Splatoon 2 and ARMS at E3

The company is finally sinking some money into its franchises, competitively.

Nintendo will host two tournaments during E3 for two of the its newest games on the Nintendo Switch, Splatoon 2 and ARMS.

The 2017 Splatoon 2 World Inkling Invitational will take place on June 13 and will feature four invited squads from Europe, USA, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand. It will be the first international tournament held for the game weeks before its official release on the Nintendo Switch on July 21.

The second tournament, based around Nintendo’s newest fighting game franchise, ARMS, will take place on June 14 and will also pit pre-invited fighters against each other for a chance at international glory.

These tournaments will take place live at Nintendo’s E3 booth, giving fans the chance to see some of the best players for these two games around the world battle is out for trophies.

E3 is a major annual trade fair for the video game industry. It’s a chance for companies to show off their newest games for the upcoming year and offers fans an insight into the games that will be hitting the shelves this holiday season.
