The second large-scale LAN of 2018 for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was announced today. PGL has unveiled its plans for the PGL PUBG Spring Invitational in Bucharest, Romania, from March 22 to 25.
Sixteen teams will compete for the $100,000 prize pool. Eleven teams will receive automatic bids, while the remaining five will participate in online qualifiers in Europe, North America, and South America.
The event will take place just a month after ESL’s PUBG Invitational at IEM Katowice, marking two major LAN events in the first three months of 2018, which is a great sign for the game’s esports growth.
Information regarding invitations, qualifiers, format, schedule, and more will be released in the coming days and weeks, according to PGL.
PUBG Corp. continues to update PUBG now that it’s a full release, and changes include testing improvements to Miramar, the game’s second map. That map will not be in play at all at IEM Katowice, but further improvements may give it a chance to be seen at an event like PGL’s.
