Move over Paris Saint-Germain F.C., because AS Monaco has now stepped into the esports arena. Epsilon Esports announced in a press release Wednesday that they will partner with the historic Ligue 1 side, and have named Nathan “Sneaky” Nayagom, a well known French FIFA personality, as the FIFA Ambassador for the club. Sneaky will represent Les Rouges et Blancs by wearing their famed home jersey at FIFA esport competitons during the 2016-17 season. Both sides are known for their presence as some of the best organizations for their respective fields, with AS Monaco currently in the Champions League and placed second in Ligue 1, and Epsilon Esports being a well-known leader in esports today. Because of this, it made “perfect sense” for the two organizations to partner up. Greg Champagne, the CEO of Epsilon Esports, made the following statement with this announcement:

Nobody would believe me if I told you that I would be partnering us with an historical football club when we created Epsilon eSports 10 years ago. Today, it is with great honor that I am announcing this collaboration with AS Monaco. Sports and eSports are meeting for the happiness of our fan-bases. From today onwards, let’s try to achieve the best performances for the enjoyment of our audiences.

Bruno Skropeta, AS Monaco communication and marketing director, also released a statement in the press release, stating the following:

We are really happy to conclude this partnership with Epsilon eSports, and it will allow us to be one of the major players in this area in both France and Europe. This opportunity will give a totally new rewarding experience to all our fans. E-sport has a really young market which is a growing sector, and is therefore an important new step in the digital strategy of the club.

This announcement comes in the wake of PSG signing another FIFA esports player, Lucas “DaXe” Cuillerier, from Epsilon Esports.
