Warframe is a very popular action game for both PC and consoles, but players have had a feature they have been requesting for many years. Cross-play and cross-save (or cross-progression) have been highly sought after for a long time as players wish to play with all their friends and even jump between platforms if they want.
Does Warframe have cross-play?
Yes, Warframe does have a cross-play feature that allows players to team up with the rest of the community, no matter the platform they play on. Cross-platform play was initially introduced in December 2022 between PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
Players can activate cross-platform play by going to the Options menu, selecting the System tab, and toggling cross-platform play On at the bottom of the screen.
Does Warframe have cross-save?
At the moment, Warframe does not have a cross-save or cross-progression option. The game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, but there is no way to carry your progress from platform to platform. For now, you will have to pick your preferred platform to play on and stick with it. At least cross-play will allow you to play with friends no matter what platform they are on.

Will Warframe eventually get cross-save?
Eventually, Warframe will get cross-save as Digital Extremes promised fans the feature was coming. Fans were thrilled when Digital Extremes announced the development of cross-save and cross-play at TennoCon 2021. Since then, the devs released cross-play and said once the full suite of features is available for cross-play, they will be able to implement the cross-progression players are so hungry for.
Digital Extremes seems to be targeting a 2023 release for cross-save, but that is always up for change. Long-time players will understand that release dates of features and updates in Warframe is pretty fluid, and the team is not shy about holding releases back if they feel it is necessary to do so.
