Well-known gaming media source, IGN, has announced a new eSports show segment called “eSports Weekly” with Coca Cola. The show is set to air on their site on Friday’s at 7 pm ET, starting October 9th.

The show is hosted by Kevin Knocke and will bring on guests to discuss the latest news around eSports. The first episode will feature League of Legends personality Snoopeh and Evil Geniuses’ Dota 2 manager Charlie Yang.

IGN has long been known as a top media source covering everything gamers can imagine. The announcement of eSports Weekly segment follows a continuing trend with big names in the gaming industry: a foray into the eSports scene. Not only is IGN making more of an effort to cover eSports, they are bringing along a huge sponsor: Coca Cola. This news follows on the heels of ESPN looking for eSports writers and editors as well as TBS announcing a CSGO league to be broadcasted on their network.

Internationally-known sponsors like Coca Cola and companies like ESPN are now seeing the potential of a young and growing market, meaning a lot more money is now involved in the eSports scene. With names like Intel, Redbull, and Coca Cola sponsoring eSports teams and/or organizations, who’s next?
