The 2018 World Championship Pick’em challenge has gone live a little earlier than expected, giving League of Legends fans the chance to win in-game prizes by predicting the outcome of this year’s tournament.
Originally, the pick’em challenge was meant to go live on Oct. 9, one day before the group stage begins. But Riot has launched the system two days earlier than fans anticipated, giving everyone ample time to lock in their picks.
The launch coincides with the end of the play-in stage earlier today, which saw G2 Esports, EDward Gaming, Cloud9, and G-Rex advance into the group stage of the event.

The Worlds Pick’em challenge gives fans the chance to show off what they know about League esports. Correct predictions of where teams will place in each group will give fans the chance to win in-game prizes. Fans can also earn further prizes during the knockout portion of the tournament.
Anyone who competes in this event will receive a 2018 participation icon for their League in-game account. If you somehow manage to predict a lot of the games correctly and score 34 or more points, you’ll also get a second in-game icon to show off your skills.
If you can achieve the impossible and successfully predict the outcome of every match in both the group and knockout stage, you’ll receive all five of League’s ultimate skins, including Elementalist Lux, Pulsefire Ezreal, Spirit Guard Udyr, DJ Sona, and Gun Goddess Miss Fortune.
Participants must lock in their brackets before matches start on Oct. 10, or else you’ll be stuck with the default settings or whatever your last picks were.
