Tempo Storm streamer and speedrunner Mychal “Trihex” Jefferson has been banned from Twitch after using “a word of derogatory nature” live on stream.
Following his ban, Trihex took to social media to apologize for what he said and to anyone he might have offended. Trihex also mentioned in his social media post that he plans to “use this time to reflect and reform.”
Trihex is a well-known figure in the speedrunning community and is known for his thrilling speedruns of SMW2: Yoshi’s Island. He has frequently attended popular speedrun charity events like AGDQ and SGDQ to show off his craft. He’s also the face behind one of Twitch’s most popular emotes, Trihard.
He joined Tempo Storm in 2016 and is still a streamer for the organization to this day. His fame has also gifted him numerous appearances at events, such as the Nintendo World Championships in 2015, where he made it to the semifinals.
There’s been no word yet on how long the ban could last for. Trihex could be out for a few days, months, or whatever time frame Twitch deems necessary for his actions.
