Kim “KDG” Dong-gun and Park “Changgoon” Chang-guen as head coach and assistant coach, respectively. Kim comes to Seoul Dynasty with experience as head coach for European Contenders team Mosaic Esports, though he’s also known as a former StarCraft professional under the “FrOzen” moniker. Park previously coached the Overwatch League’s season one champions, London Spitfire.

As announced last month, Lee “Hocury” Ho-chul will lead the team as general manager. “In KDG and Changgoon, Hocury and our organization are thrilled to have found a coaching tandem with the same vision of how to build a team,” Gen. G esports chief growth officer Arnold Hur said in a statement. “We’re confident that under their leadership, all our players will develop a winning mentality and set us up for success in Overwatch League this season.”

Seoul Dynasty struggled to maintain the legacy they’d set up during OGN Overwatch Apex as Lunatic-Hai. The Gen. G Overwatch League team ended the first season in eighth place, a shocking result for the pre-season favorites.

The organization parted ways with much of the coaching staff last month, including former general manager Baek Kwang-jin and coaches Chae “alwaysoov” Ho-jeong, Kim Yo-han, and Cho Yoon-ho. Baek and Chae have been working with the former Lunatic-Hai team since 2016.

Earlier in August, Seoul Dynasty announced the addition of Baek “Fissure” Chan-hyung, a former tank player for Los Angeles Gladiators and London Spitfire. Fissure was reportedly eager to join a single-language team after for the second Overwatch League season. No other player signings have been announced.

The Overwatch League trade window for current players in the league and Contenders opened on Aug. 1. From Sept. 9 to Oct. 7, teams can sign free agents.
