League of Legends fans and players have finally been given official confirmation on which venues the World Championship games will be played in this year, alongside when tickets for the matches will be available to the public.
The grand finals between the top two teams will be hosted at the Incheon Munhak Stadium in Incheon, South Korea, on Nov 3, bringing the whole event to a close. The venue for the finals had been a source of some uncertainty, with Riot announcing earlier this month that it had had trouble securing a site.
These tickets will likely be the most sought after and will be on sale on Sept. 24, two weeks after the semifinals tickets.
Tickets will go on sale at set times and dates on the Interpark website and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. The website can be accessed in different languages including English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. Tickets will go live at 10 PM PT for each date.
The tickets will cost various prices with the cheapest, the Play-in stage, being sold for 10,000 KRW ($9) with the most expensive ticket in the semifinals being 42,000 KRW ($37). Prices for the finals have not been revealed at this time.
Fans will only be able to buy four tickets per person. There are also a bunch of processing fees and other purchases that fans should keep an eye out for when buying their tickets. All of this is noted on the lolesports website.
Worlds gets underway with the Play-In stage at LoL PARK (Gran Seoul 3F) in Seoul on Oct. 1, with the other stages taking place across venues in Busan, Gwangju, and the final in Incheon. The group stages and quarterfinals will be played at the BEXCO (Busan Exhibition and Convention Center) Auditorium, with the semifinals hosted at Gwangju Women’s University Universiade Gymnasium.
With under two months to go until the Play-In stage kicks off, international fans will need to scramble to buy inflated plane and hotel prices to get themselves to the locations on time.
