Lee “Flame” Ho-Jong left CJ Entus Blaze today, ending a storied two year run with the team.

While Blaze has not had the same success they enjoyed when Lee first joined the team in October 2012, he remains one of few players capable of carrying matches from the top lane. Lee helped lead the team to wins at the 2012 Major League Gaming Fall Championship, the Intel Extreme Masters Season VII finals, and the 2013 World Cyber Games.

In 2013, Lee won the Best Top Laner award at the 2013 Korean e-Sports Awards.

Due to the one-team roster rule, organizations like CJ Entus were forced to consolidate their two teams into a single roster, sometimes leaving former starters on the bench. While it was speculated that Lee would be retained considering his immense talent, it seems that the team and player have agreed to part ways.

“It feels quite strange because the two years have passed so quickly,” Lee said on Facebook

“I remember the moment that I had first match with the team NaJin Sword at Busan, and the moment that I achieved a winning streak at spring season. I remember these moments as clearly as it happened yesterday. Those two years are really precious to me.”

But, as they say, all good things must come to an end. The star top laner seems as unsure of his own future as the fans speculating on his next landing place.

“My future career is not yet set,” he said. “But in my next career, I would improve even more to show you better performance.”
