In Super Smash Bros., it’s never too late to win. Even when it’s one against two.
That’s the lesson to be taken from this highlight video compiled by YouTuber EvenMatchupGaming. The video features a top 10 list of Smash Bros. doubles match comebacks in which players are able to win in spite of finding themselves in one versus two situations.
The video features both Super Smash Bros. Melee and the latest edition of the series, Super Smash Bros. Wii U. Matches come from a variety of tournaments and feature characters such as Sheik, Mario, and Solid Snake blazing the comeback trail.
The most impressive comeback, and the one ranked at number one in the video, belongs to Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma. Known for his unmatched Jigglypuff play, Debiedma shows off his skills here with some wild dodging and excellent spacing, leading to an improbable comeback against a very determined pair of opponents.
Debiedma’s success in doubles play is no secret, so it’s fitting to see him at the top of such a ranking. His singles victory at this weekend’s Paragon tournament likely holds more meaning for Debiedma than his topping a highlight reel, but he’ll probably take both accomplishments for what they’re worth.
