SK Gaming will field nRated, rest of regular roster in week 8

As SK Gaming struggles to control a chaotic conflict between its players and management, the team is still planning to field its standard squad for this week’s League Championship Series games.

Christoph “nRated” Seitz will not be benched in this week’s matches, and the rest of his team will play alongside him, at least according to the official list the organization submitted to Riot Games.

The squad has been embroiled in conflict for weeks, leading to widespread speculation that Seitz had been kicked off the team and that his teammates were refusing to play as a result. German esports news site Summoner’s Inn initially reported the news, which was later confirmed by the Daily Dot. SK Gaming management also allegedly threatened to fine its players for underperformance throughout the current split. Following the advice of Riot Games, however, the team’s roster isn’t likely to change for the remainder of the season, with Seitz most likely a part of the team.

Marksman Adrian “CandyPanda” Wübbelmann was vocally outspoken about complications occurring within the team over the past week on his Twitter:

After the meltdown, the team reportedly approached Glenn “Hybrid” Doornenbal, the current support player for Gamers2. In an open letter to Riot Games, Gamers2 owner Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago accused the organization of trying to poach the Gamers2 roster for its Challenger side SK Gaming Prime. In the same letter, Rodríguez Santiago urged that the game developer enact rules against poaching/tampering with Challenger Series players.

This isn’t the first time internal conflicts at SK Gaming have made headlines. AD carry Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou left the team at the end of the Spring Split after struggling to get along with his teammates.
