The best Hanzo skins in Overwatch

These skins give the archer some serious style.

Hanzo has been a part of the Overwatch lineup since the very beginning. It’s hard to believe it, but this longevity has granted him more than half a decade’s worth of skins. From event exclusives to challenge rewards and good old base skins, Hanzo has amassed an impressive variety of looks.

If you’re looking for some good looks to unlock before the launch of Overwatch 2, look no further. We’re highlighting several of Hanzo’s best skins from his time in Overwatch. Whether you’re looking for something that reflects Hanzo’s lore, his Japanese heritage, or his personality, you’re sure to find something you like among these great skins.

Young Master

If you’re looking for a skin that represents Hanzo’s lore, Young Master is a great choice. It gives players a glimpse into his extensive training to be the future leader of the Shimada clan and acts as the counterpart to Genji’s Young Genji skin. Besides giving Hanzo a hilariously smug expression and chiseled cheekbones, it’s an extremely detailed and intricate skin with a lot of moving parts. The claw-toed boots, deep blue robe, and gold Shimada emblem all add to its air of importance.

Kyogisha

While it might not look all that different from Hanzo’s base skin, Kyogisha is unique in a few key ways. Granted as a reward for completing Overwatch‘s Kanezaka Challenge, Kyogisha first and foremost grants the bow-wielder a rockin’ pair of sunglasses. It also upgrades his gear a good bit, giving him futuristic robes, a quiver of arrows with his family name on it, and an excellent new hairdo. It’s just different enough to warrant a second glance.

Dai-Tengu

While Hanzo’s Demon skin might be his oldest Halloween look, it doesn’t hold a candle to Dai-Tengu. Originally introduced during the game’s yearly Halloween Terror event, this skin transforms the archer into a true horror. With glowing red skin, golden gloves, and a demonic mask, Dai-Tengu is the surest way to strike fear into the hearts of your opponents in the heat of battle.

Okami

Okami is one of Hanzo’s most iconic skins. Not only does it completely change up his look, giving him a wolf’s hood and fur-lined shoulder pads, but it gives him new voice lines and gives his ultimate a fresh coat of paint. With Okami equipped, Hanzo will mention wolves rather than dragons in many of his voice lines, and firing off a Dragonstrike spawns two enormous wolves that howl as they cross the battlefield. Okami proves that base legendary skins don’t have to be boring or typical.

Wave

Many of the game’s heroes have swimsuit skins to celebrate the warmer months, and Hanzo is no exception. His skin Wave was originally introduced as part of Overwatch‘s Summer Games event, and it fits the theme perfectly. With its bright blue swim trunks featuring a pattern inspired by the famous The Great Wave off Kanagawa painting and its adorable water bottle, this version of Hanzo is ready for some water sports.

Scion

With a sleek suit and expensive accessories, Hanzo plays the part of the Shimada Clan’s leader with terrifying ease in his Scion skin. Much like many of Hanzo’s other skins, every detail on this skin is designed with care, from his obnoxiously fancy watch to his color-coordinated tie. Scion, which was available as part of Archives events, represents an important lore moment for Hanzo: the time before he had to fight for redemption.

Casual

The first appearance of Casual wasn’t in Overwatch itself but in the companion comic Reflections. Near the end of the comic, Hanzo can be seen wearing the jacket from this skin while buying a cake from a bakery. Fans loved it so much that Blizzard decided to make it into a full skin, and it’s one of Hanzo’s very best. This relaxed yet warm getup shows what Hanzo looks like when he’s not in full battle gear, chasing down his enemies, or fighting with Genji. It’s a window into a more normal life for the game’s heroes, and we’re all here for it.
