Coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen will stand for the player for the remainder of the tournament. It’s not the first time he’s had to play the role of substitute: zonic played in the team’s group stage run at ELEAGUE a month ago after Finn “karrigan” Andersen couldn’t secure a visa-waiver in time.

Things are a bit more dire this time around, as the roster is already one player short. Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye, Astralis’ most recent addition, is ineligible to attend the major because he participated in the event’s qualifier with his former team, Dignitas.

To fill the void left by Kjaerbye, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander was brought onboard as a stand-in for the duration of ESL One Cologne. While gla1ve’s performance has been solid, dupreeh’s loss is a tough pill to swallow, not least due to the fact that the entry-fragger fields the second-best rating in the team, trailing only behind superstar Nicolai “device” Reedtz.

Astralis will play a best-of-three decider match against Danish rivals Dignitas at 11am CT tomorrow. The winner will advance to the playoffs of the second-ever $1 million major, while the loser goes home.
