New Twitch feature adds a Facebook-like newsfeed to the streaming service

A new way to keep Twitch broadcasters and viewers connected, Twitch’s Pulse feature adds a Facebook-like newsfeed to the streaming website’s front page.

Anything Twitch streamers post to their channel feeds will be broadcast to friends and followers. And folks should start automatically seeing Twitch Pulse as early as today. Roll out will continue through the next few weeks. When it does, viewers and streamers both will be able to engage with their communities outside of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Stream highlights, images, and schedule updates are encouraged. Anything, really—users will also be able to post quick updates from the Twitch mobile app. Both streamers and viewers can post, comment, and react with Pulse, but broadcasters will have additional controls for comment moderation.

Streamers will see the option to post on the broadcaster dashboard or channel feed, while viewers will be able to post from the front page. For now, posts will show up in chronological order, but Twitch plans to adjust that to determine the content viewers want to see. All broadcasters will see channel feed auto-enabled in mid-March.

So, Twitter? Facebook? Twitch is looking to make Pulse a replacement to those sites. You’ll never have to leave Twitch again.
