Changes to the way experience (XP) is gained in-game might be getting tweaked, according to Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, Riot’s lead champion designer.
Meddler was answering questions today regarding changes in the game catered towards ADCs, leading to some very interesting information.
On an off-topic question asked by a fan, inquiring about how mages are in the support role and what Riot plans to do about them, Meddler brought up the proposed changes for Patch 7.4.
“We’ll have a number of changes coming out gradually over time,” Meddler said. “Next up are some XP changes in 7.4. We should have details of those posted shortly (today or early next week at a guess).”
The thoughts on any XP changes, with no clear indication on how it will work, leaves the door open for topic and discussion. Several fans have started to speculate that supports or champions who do not kill a minion might not receive a large amount of XP, or at least not the same amount as the ADC or champion who kills the minion, similar to jungle creeps.
This is just a theory, but once we find out the actual changes, we will update the article here.
