Rapidstar joins Cloud9 as an assistant coach

The former Worlds finalist is offering his support to the NA LCS.

Jung “RapidStar” Min-sung has joined NA LCS side Cloud9 as an assistant coach, the team has revealed.

Formerly of FlyQuest, SKT, and EDward Gaming, Rapidstar has worked alongside some of the best teams and players in the League of Legends scene over his stellar career, albeit with mixed results.

He famously played in the midlane on the Azubu Frost roster in 2012 that lost to the now defunct Taipei Assassins in the season two World Championship. He retired from professional play in 2014 after a stint on the CJ Entus Frost roster.

After a two-year hiatus from the professional League scene Rapidstar joined the coaching staff of EDward Gaming in 2016, taking the team to the quarterfinals of the 2016 World Championship where they eventually lost to ROX Tigers.

At the end of the championship, Rapistar left EDG to move to SKT for a year before eventually joining NA LCS team FlyQuest as a strategic coach for the 2018 Spring Split. Rapidstar had a less than successful run with his first NA team, ending the season in eighth place with a 6-12 scoreline.

Now on Cloud9, Rapidstar will be joining the coaching staff alongside long-time head coach Bok “Reapered” Han-gyu. The duo will look to build on Cloud9’s joint fifth place finish in the 2018 Spring Split to fight for those all important Worlds spots at the end of the year.
