Bandai's tournament circuit is about to begin.

Bandai Namco has announced details for the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour, a brand new tournament series centred around the company’s anime fighting game.

The World Tour was originally revealed on June 8 with Bandai choosing to withhold information such as venues, prize pools, and other key details until now.

The tournament is in partnership with Twitch, with all the major fights being streamed exclusively on the Dragon Ball FighterZ Twitch page. Twitch will also act as the tournament’s managing partner for league operations, circuit events, and content across the globe.

The series will begin at CEO Fighting Game Championships taking place on June 29 to July 1 at Daytona Beach, Florida and will be the only event held in the U.S. Bandai will then host six more tournaments in other countries around the world which includes VS Fighting (United Kingdom), Ultimate Fighting Arena (France), Thunderstruck (Mexico), and Southeast Asia Major (Singapore). Two more locations that are still to be announced.

Bandai wants the event to feel like a real world tour, hence its decision to only host one event in each country. Currently, Japan is a huge omission from the lineup—but it could well be one of the two remaining unannounced locations. Japan has some of the best fighting game players around the world and its omission from such an event would be unlikely.

The big unanswered question is still what exactly players stand to win from this World Tour. Expect more news on prizing in the coming days, ahead of the debut event.
