Griffin have taken the League of Legends world by storm over the past couple of seasons after shooting straight to the top of the LCK right out of the Korean Challenger scene. Although they weren’t able to make it to this year’s Mid-Season Invitational, the young roster had plenty to say about the champions, G2 Esports.
The roster answered various questions from their fans on the League of Legends subreddit today, where some people asked for their opinion on the dominant European super team and their playstyle. Top laner Choi “Sword” Sung-won called them “flexible,” while Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong said that “each and everyone [of G2 Esports] is fantastic.”
“I think they’re a team that knows how to operate real tight depending on how strong they are,” Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, Griffin’s 18-year-old mid laner, said. “It was very inspiring to see them play for the gains then to think about the losses.”
One Redditor asked each Griffin player to name someone from the West that they’d want to face in their role. And everyone on Griffin mentioned the corresponding G2 player in response. The G2 Esports Reddit account popped into the comments and told them “we can’t wait for Worlds so you’ll have your chance.”
It’s clear that G2 are considered one of the top teams in the world after their performance at MSI 2019. If Griffin truly want to try their hand at the LEC Spring Split champs, they’ll have to make it to Worlds 2019. But they have plenty of opposition waiting for them in Korea, like SK Telecom T1 and Kingzone DragonX.
