Sinister symbiotes invade in Marvel Snap’s October season, ‘We are Venom,’ including a new game mode

It's a great time to bond with loved ones.

October marks two years since the official release of Marvel Snap on mobile, and Second Dinner is celebrating in a big way with the “We are Venom” season.

This month’s season pass card is Agent Venom, who is an On Reveal that will set the power of all cards in your deck to four. This obviously bodes very well for a card like Cerebro, but is also a generally great play for cards like Iron Man, Wasp, and other low-power cards.

Throughout the season, more cards will be added, including Toxin (two cost, one power — “On Reveal: Return your other cards here to your hand. Plus-two power for each returned), who will make an excellent addition to Bounce decks.

If Move decks have been bugging you lately, then Scream is a card to save up for. Scream is a two/two that has the text ability of “when an enemy card moves, steal two power from it (once per turn).” And then there’s Misery (which is what I feel when playing against Galactus), which is a four/seven that is an On Reveal that will “repeat the On Reveal abilities of your other cards here, then destroy them.”

Anti-Venom is a four/six with an On Reveal to set the cost and power of your deck’s top card to zero, perfect for pairing up with cards like Iron Man, Arnim Zola, or Null, which already have zero power to begin with. And finally, Scorn is a one/two that will return to your hand and give plus-two power to itself and another card you have in play, making for a nice addition to Discard decks.

The season pass will include new items like variants for Venom, Carnage, and Agent Venom, along with the normal fare of currencies like Boosters and Credits, and more. But this season’s celebrations bring a lot more than just a pass.

A new game mode named High Voltage will feature a unique twist on Snap where there are only three turns, each turn gives a random amount of energy between two and five, and there’s no cubes or snapping. This mode is how the Agony card will be earned.

For the two year anniversary, Marvel Snap will add a week’s worth of login rewards, and a special variant that players can vote on. Rewards include Credits, Boosters, card borders, and the variant of choice between Howard the Duck, Armor, and Destroyer.

Marvel Snap’s We are Venom season begins next week on Oct. 1.
