How to join a friend’s world in Core Keeper

Explore a new world with your friends.

Core Keeper is a top-down sandbox game developed by Pugstorm and published by Fireshine Games, reminiscent of popular titles like Minecraft and Terraria. You can play solo or in co-op with up to eight players, with whom you can collaborate on building, crafting, and surviving in a world that can otherwise feel dark and at times lonely.

With a vast cave to explore, many objects to craft, ad dishes to cook, playing together enhances the experience, making the game not only more enjoyable but also less challenging.

How to create a lobby in Core Keeper

Creating a lobby in Core Keeper is essential for playing with friends. To get started, select “Start Online Game” from the main menu. Next, choose your world’s slot, set the seed and generation settings, select your character, and enter the game. Once in the game, press Esc to pause and reveal several options on your screen.

At the top left, you’ll see the world’s settings, including its name and Game ID. From here, you can “Show Game ID,” “Change Game ID,” or “Copy Game ID.” After copying the Game ID, share it with your friends so they can join your world—or better, cave.

Remember, as the host, you control the connection in Core Keeper. If you leave the game, everyone else in the lobby will lose connection as well. This means your friends can only play in your world while you’re actively online, so make sure to plan your sessions accordingly. Also, a stable internet connection is crucial, as any lag or disruption on your end will affect the entire team’s experience.

If a friend of yours already has a world in Core Keeper, it’s even easier to join them. Once you’ve received the Game ID from your friend, open Core Keeper and click on the “Join Game” option from the main menu. You’ll be prompted to enter the Game ID in an empty field. After you’ve entered the correct Game ID, click “Join,” and within moments, you’ll find yourself in your friend’s world, ready to explore and contribute to their cave.
