Most League of Legends players have faced off against Riven and Vayne and asked themselves why these two champions haven’t been nerfed yet. If you were in that group, it’s time to rejoice—both champions are getting hit with some nerfs in Patch 9.10.
For Riven, Riot Games was “looking to target a consistent point of frustration that players face when playing against Riven,” which was her ability to spam her E as a defensive tool. That will be changing since Riot is increasing the cooldown of the ability by four seconds at each level. Riven will, however, be seeing a decrease in cooldown for her Q ability as well.
This way, people who are playing against Riven will have more chances to attack her with her E ability down for a longer time. This should make the laning phase a bit less aggravating since she can no longer constantly shield away any trade damage.
In the same vein, the Vayne nerfs also combat the frustrations surrounding her straight base stats. “Vayne ramps up a little too early and is especially frustrating because of how often she goes invisible,” Riot said.
As a result, Riot is now making Tumble’s cooldown reduction scale during Vayne’s ultimate, instead of being at a static 50 percent. The cooldown reduction will now be 30/40/50 percent at each level. Additionally, Vayne is getting affected by the Guinsoo’s Rageblade nerfs, which means that Vayne will be losing a good amount of power to her kit.
