The countdown to the 2024 League of Legends World Championship is on. Twenty teams will enter this year’s edition of the pinnacle event, but the path they tread won’t be easy.
Gen.G was the first team to secure a spot in the Swiss stage thanks to their victory at League‘s Mid-Season Invitational, but as each region’s split draws to a close, more squads will soon be joining the Korean giants at the biggest event on the calendar.
There’s still time for the many League challengers to stake their claims and make history at the 14th edition of the glamorous Riot Games tournament, but just one slip-up in regional playoffs may mean the difference between a ticket to Germany or an early vacation. Here are the teams that qualified for League Worlds 2024.

Main event
LEC (EMEA)

- G2 Esports (LEC Summer champion)
G2 Esports became the second team locked in for Worlds 2024 after their 3-0 whitewash of Fnatic on July 28. This will be the eighth time we’ll see G2 take the Worlds stage, and they’ll be hoping to bounce back from last year’s early exit in the round-robin stage.
Two more teams will join G2 from the upcoming season finals. Should G2 finish top two, the next-best team will receive the main event invite instead.
LCS (North America)

Three spots are up for grabs in the LCS following the Summer Championship, which kicks off in mid-August. Cloud9, Team Liquid, and FlyQuest are the only teams to secure spots in the championship finals so far, with three more spots up for grabs. All three LCS reps will skip the Play-In and head straight to the main event.
LPL (China)

The LPL season is in full swing, with four spots at Worlds up for grabs for the Chinese heavyweights. At this stage, LNG Esports is out in front ahead of rivals Bilibili, while Rare Atom leads the region’s second group.
LCK (Korea)

- Gen.G (2024 MSI champion)
Gen.G was the first team to book its spot at Worlds thanks to their historic MSI win. Joining the glittering roster be the LCK Championship points leader (Gen.G at this stage, with T1 in tow), and the Summer and Regional Finals champions. Again, if Gen.G takes out the LCK trophy, the next-best team will get the invite.

PCS (Asia-Pacific)

The PCS teams won’t just be playing for a Worlds spot this August. The top team will secure their slot in the new APAC split starting 2025, and with many teams looking beyond Worlds in regards to their League futures, all eyes will be on the PCS playoffs.
VCS (Vietnam)

Similarly to the PCS, Vietnam is folding into the new APAC system. The region is still bouncing back from the major match-fixing scandal last split, but the top two spots here will still secure Play-In spots at Worlds, plus the champions will lock in their spot in the APAC 2025 league.
LLA (Latin America)

The LLA as we know it comes to a close in 2024 with the South American regions folded into North America’s LCS via the new conference. Movistar R7 will be looking to go back-to-back and are favorites after a 14-6 record in the regular season.
CBLOL (Brazil)

The same goes for the CBLOL, who will also join the LLA in the new American conference system in 2025. Vivo Keyd Stars led the way in the regular split, while MSI reps LOUD sit in fourth heading into the playoffs.
