AFK Journey: Snow Stomper best teams and guide

You will face a challenging mechanic against this Dream Realm boss.

Snow Stomper is a difficult boss in AFK Journey’s Dream Realm that locks you out of your ultimates and traps characters in its Yeti Cell, keeping them out of the fight until allies save them. You need a team that can keep up steady damage to beat it.

  • Faction: Other
  • Class: Mage
  • Damage type: Magic
  • Range: 20

Here’s the full list of Snow Stomper’s attacks, including the snow trap, the front-arc area attack, and the global silence. The Snow Stomper deals Magic damage, has a range of 20, and is a Mage character in the Other Faction.

SkillDescriptionHow to counter
UltimateFreezes an enemy in Yeti Cell, making them unable to move or act.Have a high-damage team composition.
Skill onePeriodically silences all enemies for an extended duration.Use characters who don’t rely on Ultimates and skills to thrive. Avoid Mages.
Skill twoDeals true damage to a target and makes them lose HP over time.Have constant healing on your frontmost ally.
Skill threeAttacks and knocks down the enemy with the highest HP ratio.Have some form of global healing, such as with Awakening Artifact.
Skill fourDeals multiple damage to enemies within the radius of a one-tile arc.Have one or two frontline characters at most.

A long-range hero team, especially Marksmen, counters Snow Stomper effectively. Short-range units like Tanks and melee Assassins struggle as Snow Stomper’s area attack hits three at once, quickly wiping your team. A ranged-heavy setup prevents such damage, extending team survival. Melee Assassins, for example, often die before using their Ultimates. My best scores involved one Tank and Warriors or just a Tank, complemented by Marksmen. This mix is great against Snow Stomper, letting your heroes survive longer and boosting your final score in AFK Journey’s Dream Realm.

The best team against the Snow Stomper in AFK Journey consists of Kruger, Reinier, Odie, Marilee, and Korin with the Starshard Spell Artifact, which I refer to as the Aggressive comp. This lineup achieves the three-two Faction bonus and focuses on extreme aggression, with Odie, Marilee, and Korin handling the damage output while Kruger works on reducing the defenses of the Snow Stomper. It’s crucial to position Kruger so that Reinier’s Dynamic Balance targets him for constant healing, ensuring his survivability.

An excellent alternative is the Defensive team composition, where Marilee is replaced by Lucius for extended survivability granted by Lucius’ shields from Divine Light Aegis. Although his ultimate takes longer to activate, it’s incredibly effective for allowing your team to withstand the second round of Snow Stomper skills.

Use the Aggressive team if you’re consistently surviving past the 30-second mark. Opt for the defensive team if your team is being overwhelmed before that mark.

In both team compositions, you have the option to replace Reinier with Rowan. While not as effective, this change might allow you to use an Ultimate before Snow Stomper’s first global silence, and Rowan’s healing potions will generally keep your frontline hero healthy.

All my tries were at Resonance Level 160, and my best heroes were Legendary+ tier. With this setup, I reached Hell Snow Stomper and managed to take away 18 percent of its health, which is 3.6 million damage. This got me to 140th place in the rankings so far. How well you do will also hinge on how leveled up and strong your heroes and gear are because the better they are, the more damage you’ll do to Snow Stomper and the longer you can hold out against its moves.
