First revealed in March, 2024, Marvel Rivals is a war between heroes and villains from the Marvel universe as they clash in destructible environments from across the multiverse—which leads to familiar surroundings along with a whole bunch of new experiences.

New maps and heroes will be released periodically in Marvel Rivals, which has “infinite possibilities,” and plenty more is likely to be revealed before the game fully launches—after the closed alpha and a possible next beta.

We’ve got the details on what we know so far about Marvel Rivals’ maps below.

We know three maps in Marvel Rivals, which feature two different locations in the universe—suggesting that each area of the multiverse featured in Marvel Rivals could have multiple maps and additional sub-locations.

The maps announced so far are listed below:

  • Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya
  • Yggsgard: Royal Palace
  • Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path

Maps in Marvel Rivals feature destructible environments, with the original reveal trailer showing Iron Man destroying a statue in Yggsgard, Black Panther harnessing the power of Bast to send a bridge crashing down, and Groot teaming up with Rocket Raccoon to demolish a wall.

NetEase certainly has no shortage of potential environments that could be replicated as maps in Marvel Rivals, with the vast history of Marvel Comics giving us the potential to visit both real-world and made-up locations.

Fresh approaches have already been shown with Yggsgard, a version of Asgard that has been fused with Yggdrasill, the world tree, after the Timestream Entanglement, so we could see similar fun ideas in the future.
