How to stay warm in LEGO Fortnite

Run form the cold, my blocky friend.

In LEGO Fortnite it is important to stay warm as it can affect your health if you’re caught freezing in the middle of the night. There are a few ways you can battle against the cold in this cubic world and get the most out of traversing colder areas near the game.

You can check your character’s warmth status on the top left corner of the screen. There’s a blue and red meter that shows if your character is hot or cold.

  • If the arrow is on light blue, it means you’re cold.
  • If the arrow is on dark blue, you are freezing.

You’ll see a pop-up message letting you know when you are either cold or freezing and the screen borders will have a frozen aspect. You will also start to lose health if you remain cold and your character will even begin shaking.

Tip: When do these effects usually happen?

Getting cold and or freezing usually happens at night when you wander too far from your campfire and it is raining. It also happens near or in the snow biomes.

The colder you are, the faster you lose hearts.

  • When cold, you’ll lose one-fourth of a heart around every 15 seconds.
  • The farther to the left the arrow is, the faster you’ll lose one-fourth of a heart until it’s every second when you are freezing.

When you are in a building, you can still be affected by the cold status during the night. Therefore, it is always really good to have enough wood on hand to build a campfire or materials for a torch. Here all of the ways you can stay warm in LEGO Fortnite from the start of the game:

  • Avoid snowy biomes
  • Stay near a campfire, especially at night
  • Stay under a roof to avoid rainy weather
  • Hold a torch
  • Find Spicy Peppers in the desert biome that grant two minutes of Cold Resistance
  • Cook a Spicy Burger that grants 10 minutes of Cold Resistance
Tip: A campfire is powerful

A campfire has a pretty wide radius when it comes to keeping you warm. Make sure to always have the materials to build a Campfire in case of an emergency.

You’ll only need wood and vines to keep warm.

  • You can gather wood on the floor, by hitting small trees, or by crafting a Forest Axe to take down bigger trees.
  • For vines, you can destroy bushes and small plants—such as raspberries, pumpkins, and corn—to get get vines.
