Jump throw binds have been saved in CS2’s latest update

This is huge.

Valve’s latest CS2 update has finally made jump-throw binds viable. Previously, pressing a movement key after jumping would create inconsistencies, leading to smokes landing in different places almost every time.

However, today’s patch—added to servers late on Nov. 8—removed this pesky bug, and players can learn lineups again without fearing missed smokes. The update also added features to prevent solo queue players from being kicked, fixed issues involving footstep volume, and now allows parties of four to queue in Premier matchmaking.

CS2’s jump-throw patch is likely to echo throughout the community as one of the biggest updates yet, though many are still downloading the update right now.

Jump-throw inconsistency has been the talk of the Counter-Strike town for weeks. Valve previously changed commands to leverage sub-tick accuracy, but ruined jump-throw binds in the process.

Elsewhere in the update, Valve also introduced safeguards for solo queue players. CS gamers in groups of four can no longer kick their unknown compatriot, thanks to a new immunity-based feature introduced by the devs.

Multiple sound bugs were also fixed in today’s gameplay patch, leading to pro players praising the changes on social media. From now on, landing sounds will have the exact same noise distance as footsteps in CS2. Previously, players would actually be able to hear an opponent landing anywhere on the entire map.

November has been a huge month for CS2 fans. Valve introduced multiple long-awaited features and tackled what seemed like a never-ending list of bugs within three updates. Community servers finally received the ability to host workshop maps as well, giving gamers an endless amount of community-made game modes to play.

Because of the Nov. 2 update, CS2 players can access surfing maps, KZ servers, and even participate in themed game modes. It also made a significant difference in the single-player workshop map landscape.

Maps like Aim_Botz are far more simple to download now too, meaning CS2 players looking to sharpen their aim can do so easily.

Today’s CS2 patch will be around 605MB to download for players.
