Gen.G, Galorants partner for upcoming VCT Game Changers Academy VALORANT event production

The two organizations are back together, this time for more than one tournament.

Galorants, the all-women’s VALORANT community, has entered a strategic partnership with global esports organization Gen.G that will see both groups working to produce a new series of tournaments through the end of 2021.

This tournament series will be centralized on the VCT Game Changers Academy, a circuit of tournaments, including monthly events that are geared toward giving more players opportunities at the semi-pro and grassroots level, while fostering the women’s competitive scene.

“When we first launched Galorants in June of 2020, we had no idea the journey that it would take us on,” Galorants founder and Gen.G talent development ambassador Nicci Barker said. “Since then, we have worked with some of the biggest names in gaming, including Riot Games, to continue to develop and encourage growth within our community. With this partnership with Gen.G, we hope to continue to support and grow the gaming scene for women with a full schedule of events through the end of the year.”

With this partnership, Gen.G and Galorants hope to tap into the more than 13,000 members of the Galorants community and create new ways to boost involvement and showcase talent while providing a multitude of opportunities for aspiring competitive players.

This will be the second time Galorants and Gen.G have collaborated to run an event, previously hosting Proving Grounds, another women-only VALORANT tournament in February.

“Gen.G and Galorants share the same values and mission, and we’re teaming up to continue to bring powerful opportunities to both amateur and pro women,” Gen.G associate director of talent and content Amanda Kane said. “Working with Galorants, who genuinely cares about improving the online space for women VALORANT gamers, is exciting.”

The first of the Galorants-produced VCT Game Changers Academy tournaments will run from July 30 to Aug. 1. You can learn more about the event, including a full schedule and sign-up information, on the Galorants Discord server.
