How to get the Slayer set in The First Descendant

Fall gods and monsters with this set.

External Components are an important but often overlooked aspect of The First Descendant’s gameplay and endgame. Among the many you can acquire and use, the Slayer set is one of the best ones, as it provides a variety of useful buffs to your Descendant.

The Slayer set is an Ultimate tier set that, like all External Components in The First Descendant, has four parts: Memory, Processor, Auxiliary Power, and Sensor. Each part of the Slayer set can be acquired and farmed in the same way: by defeating the Pyromaniac Intercept Battle on hard mode.

Getting two pieces of the set grants you a stat increase, and acquiring the four-piece set grants even greater stats buffs. Getting the two-piece set increases your general Rounds Capacity by 8 percent. On the other hand, getting all pieces of the set grants 9 percent more Rounds per Magazine for your weapon, 26.1 percent more Skill Power, and 15 percent more Skill Cost. Additionally, acquiring all pieces of the set gives you a 17 percent chance of recovering MP and 12 percent Specialized Resource when defeating enemies inflicted with Towed.

The Slayer set is a great External Component set that can be utilized by any Descendant but is especially effective for gun-expert DPS Descendants like Gley and Jayber.

To defeat the Pyromaniac boss, a strategic approach is key. You need to go into the fight with a tanky Descendant that isn’t weak to fire, such as Ajax. His skills allow him to block incoming attacks, defending your party while simultaneously dealing damage. Another Descendant that is useful in this fight is Freyna, whose Toxic skills tear through the boss’s defense quickly, and her defense mechanism skill allows her to tank most attacks. Additionally, getting the Heat Antibody mod for your Descendant and increasing their Fire Resistance stat significantly helps for the boss fight.
