TF Blade gets suspended on Twitch after Twitch chat mishears him say “negative”

It seems to be a case of broken telephone with TF Blade.

Another day, another controversy on Twitch. This time, popular League of Legends streamer and Team Liquid sub Ashkan “TF Blade” Homayouni has been suspended from the streaming site for allegedly using a racial slur.

TF Blade says he “never said” the word but that Twitch “misheard and assumed” he did. During a recent stream, TF Blade claims he said the word “negative,” but Twitch and some people listening claim he actually said the n-word.

There isn’t a clip of the incident, though some streamers are taking TF Blade’s side. Dmitry “Redmercy” Garanin put it bluntly: “Is Twitch dumb enough to assume it was [the] N word and ban, or is it something else?”

Hammoudi “Yassuo” Abdalrhman, another popular League content creator , wasn’t buying it either. “The context that they gave him was like, ‘Get the Infernal, you—” Yassuo said, as he paused to represent the slur that TF Blade supposedly blurted. “There’s just no way. There’s no way Blade said that.”

Twitch has made mistakes over bans in the bast. Last year, the site banned popular streamer Saqib “Lirik” Zahid for copyright infringement he never committed.
