Anyone who’s played PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds knows how valuable a frying pan can be.
It’s listed in the game as a melee weapon, but its true value is in how it stops any and all bullets coming its way when it’s holstered on your player character’s back.
But how realistic is this? Can a frying pan really stop bullets? That’s where this video by YouTube channel “Logical Increments” comes into play, as they took three guns from the game and put them into action.
Two pistols, the P1911 and P92, and the Kar98k sniper rifle were put up to the task versus an everyday frying pan that routinely stops bullets in PUBG. The results were not good for the pan.
As you can see in the video above, each gun makes light work of the frying pan. It seems like PUBG is where frying pans truly find their purpose outside of actually being used for cooking.
The Kar98k in particular has, shall we say, explosive results.
Stay strong, frying pan. You’re still an amazing butt shield in PUBG. But just don’t try stopping any real world bullets.
