As a way to thank its players for one year of support in-game, the developers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are releasing a special limited edition weapon skin to celebrate the game’s one year anniversary.
The reward for a year of loyalty is a special skin for the SCAR-L assault rifle, and it can be seen in the video below. It features a grey and yellow design and some engravings on the side.
If you look closely, the weapon has both “#1” and “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!” engraved on the side of it.
“A lot of things have happened in the world of PUBG in the last year,” said PUBG Corp. in the official announcement. “On the 23rd of March, 2017, we launched on Steam Early Access and so many of you have joined us in the best Battle Royale experience out there. Throughout our journey, we went from a pre-alpha build that only a few select players knew about to one of the most popular games in video game history. We achieved this only with your support and generosity! It’s hard to express the kind of gratitude we feel for our players. For some things there are no right words.”
This announcement comes a day after PUBG Corp. revealed weapon skins are being added to the game’s loot boxes, with a pretty low drop rate to try to earn them. This skin, however, is completely on the house.
The weapon skin is available for all of those who log into the game before May 1, so make sure to grab your skin before it’s gone forever. And try to get a chicken dinner or two while you’re at it.
