This weekend’s new event in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now live, and it will feel quite familiar to anyone who’s played a multiplayer shooter.

“War” is the name of the game, and it’s basically good, old fashioned Team Deathmatch. It features 10-person squads on Erangel and respawns are enabled, so you will be able to continue the action even after you’re first eliminated. Every time you’re eliminated, you will respawn in another plane and drop in again.

Each game has a maximum of 30 players, so three teams of 10 will battle it out to attempt to earn the most points. You get three points for a kill, one point for downing an enemy, one point for a revive, and negative five points for team-killing or team-downing. The first team to 200 points wins the game.

Immediately after the plane takes off, you will see the safe zone on the map. It will be extremely small, so players are encouraged to get in close and fight it out like classic TDM. The safe zone will not close or get smaller throughout the match.

Don’t worry too much about looting, either, because you will spawn with one random assault rifle or DMR, one pistol, a level one helmet, level one vest, and a grenade. You can find more loot in buildings or care packages that drop every 90 seconds, however.

War sounds like a great game type in theory, so make sure to check it out this weekend before it disappears. It will be live until April 15 at 9pm CT.
